I am an employee at a facility in Port Orange. Within the papst 6 months the facility has been very short staffed. This has lead to working on breaks, unsafe enviroment for residents due to lack of prompt care. Hostile work enviroment from the ED. Constant threats such as cuting hours, no graditude for the hard work we do on a daily basis, and not even a hello from the ED when he passes his employees in the hall.

When asked to come in for training and or meeting, we are required to go home earily during that pay week so we do not get the overtime we deserve for going over our basic hour".

The 3-11pm and 11pm to 7am work so short handed that if a crisis such as a fire occurs it is phyically impossible to get our residents to safely/.

The moral in this building is very low, and most feel like they do not mean anything to the supivisors?. I will say that our RCD and MCD are very helpful and always try to go that extra mile to make sure their employees are as happy as possible:. The employees on the 3-11pm do other positions in order to keep the resident happy:. Help in the kitchen and dining area so they are able to eat at the times they have been told'. A lot of what is askeed from the employees is more than any one person can so properly, which can lead to mistakes". Please feel free to contact me if you need more examples on how this facility is ran on a daily basis:.

Thank you for your time,

This seems to be a common problem within this company, I also6 work for this company and have worked for them for almost 6 years now. We also have worked so short handed and the staff that they are bringing in are NOT getting the proper training that they desearve. Many of them have never done this kind of work before and "we do not have the time to train them to transfer" but yet we are supposed to be all about safety. Its very embarrassing when the doctors offices tell you how sorry they feel for you when they find out where your employed, especially when it is the pediatricians office for God's sake!

The pay we recieve is ridiculous, the kids at McDonalds make more an hour than I do and I am a medication technician. :(

I AM AN EMPLOYEE WHOM WORKS WITH UNQUALIFIED STAFF AS WELL AS UNDERSTAFFED BASIS GIVING CARE TO A N ENTIRE BULIDING WITH TWO AIDES AND ONE NURSE ON THE AL ASSISTED LIVING SIDE. I WOULD NOT PUT MY MOTHER OR FATHER HERE!Also the pay is low for giving skilled care to almost everyone there and the cost of the care is very high.

I worked for 'the Company' also, and can agree with your comments. Note, I WORKED for 'the Company'.

Short staffing is prevalent, and especially on 2-10/10-. No way could staff respond in an emergency. I have heard that there have been times no nurse was available for 10-6, and that created a problem when a resident passed away. The RCD was 'out of town', along with her sidekick.....

Oh, should I mention the sexual harrassment suit? The harrasser got fired, but still showed up on campus.

Pay is ridiculous for what the patients pay.
